On the morning of July 2, 2019, the closing ceremony for “Utilization of Research in Evidence Based Practice”, a course taken by the International Class of the joint Masters Program in Nursing between Central South University and University of California, San Francisco was held in the Meeting Room 714 in Xiaoqian Building at Xiangya School of Medicine. Attendees of this closing ceremony included Professor Tang Siyuan, Dean of Xiangya School of Nursing, Associate Professor Guo Jia, Professor Jyu-Lin Chen from the University of California, San Francisco and all the Class of 2018 graduate students from the international class of Sino-America joint nursing program.

Since the middle of June in 2019, Prof. Jyu-Lin Chen has been lecturing on "Utilization of Research in Evidence Based Practice" to graduate students of Class 2018 from the international class of Sino-America joint nursing program. As a compulsory course, it expands and integrates the research methods and contents covered by the Advanced Academic Research, focusing on critical appraisal for evidence-based practice and relevant research literature. At the end of the course, students would be equipped with the capacity to differentiate research, quality improvement and EBP, identify sources, types, levels, and quality of evidence. Besides, they would also learn to critically appraise quantitative and qualitative evidence for clinical decision-making and and use different EBP model to evaluate EBP projects.
