From September 4th to September 8th, under the theme of “ Implementing Healthy China Initiative --- Grasping Precision Medicine and Promoting the Prevention and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases”, the 2019-Annual Congress of Chinese Thoracic Society was held in the city of Wuhan, Hubei Province. Supervised by Professor Zhang Jinghui, Ma Mengdan, a graduate nursing student from class of 2017, was invited to make a special report and paper presentation at the conference.

At the plenary session of social sciences, Ma Mengdan made a special report entitled “ Hospice Care: the Last Rays of Warmth in the Last Days of Life”. Dissecting hospice care into end-of-life care, palliative care and living wills, she dived into the definitions, connotations and prospects of these three aspects. In addition, she made a detailed presentation about her paper titled “The Application of Intracavitary Electrocardiogram in the Femoral Vein Catheter Tip Location in Chemotherapy Patients with Lung Cancer”, elaborating on the endeavors of her research group in this respect. Her brilliant report and presentation were well-received by the attendees of the conference.

According to reports, host by Chinese Medical Association with Chinese Thoracic Society as the organizer, the 2019-Annual Congress of Chinese Thoracic Society, as a high-level and high specification academic conference in the domestic community of respiratory disease, offered a platform for the fusion of different academic ideas and the presentation of latest research results. As an influential academic conference, it attracted wide participation. Nearly 7,500 people registered for and about 10,000 participated in the conference.
